About Dr. Dorninger

Dr. Dorninger ND, LAc, is a Naturopathic Physician and Licensed Acupuncturist. He graduated from Bastyr University (www.bastyr.edu), the leading accredited university for science-based natural medicine. At Bastyr, he completed five years of training in naturopathic medicine and acupuncture.

Prior to medical school, he received his B.A in Kinesiology from the University of Colorado, Boulder in 1997. During this time he also finished his E.M.T. (Emergency Medical Technician) training and volunteered at Porter Care Hospice in Denver. Eric subsequently volunteered with the Cranford First Aid Squad in 1998. In addition to practicing medicine, Eric enjoys teaching Anatomy at Naropa University and administering Stop Smoking programs at the University of Colorado, Boulder.

Eric is a general practitioner who enjoys integrating the wisdom of vitalistic medicine with the latest research of modern medicine.

Education and Accreditation

Eric Dorninger is NABNE board a certified naturopathic doctor, as well as an NCCAOM board certified and Colorado State licensed acupuncturist. He is also a member of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians (AANP), and the Colorado Association of Naturopathic Physicians(CoANP).

His medical training was at Bastyr University, a fully accredited 5-year medical university. The curriculum includes history taking, physical exam, laboratory medicine, diagnostic imaging, conventional and functional diagnosis, referral, and management. Therapies include minor surgery, pharmacy, counseling, botanical medicine, dietary and nutrient therapy, physical medicine, exercise prescription, homeopathy, and other modalities.


His Acupuncture training was also completed at Bastyr University and included traditional Chinese medical diagnosis, acupuncture and oriental medical techniques, Tui Na massage, and Chinese nutritional therapy.
